New Cleveland Advocacy Organization for Young Professionals to Host 2nd Meeting

This Thursday at 6 p.m. members of a new Cleveland advocacy group called Advance Cleveland will be meeting at Johnny’s Little Bar, 614 Frankfort, in the Warehouse District.

The group was formed last month to conduct political advocacy for issues that are important to the health of the city of Cleveland, and by extension the whole region. We support smart growth, good public and alternative transportation and other forward-thinking policies that will ensure Cleveland is a strong and viable city twenty years and further into the future.

The meeting is open to anyone who is interested in taking an active role in helping shape the city’s future.  On the agenda will be, formalizing the group’s mission statement and talking about possible letter-writing campaigns.  It will be very informal and mostly discussion based.

For more information call Angie Schmitt at 614-499-3239.

I had the privilege of attending the inagural meeting of Advance Cleveland last month and enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to Thursday night and hope many more young professionals can join us!
