2nd Annual Hidden Cleveland Tours

On Sunday, April 11th and Sunday, April 18th come out and experience hidden Cleveland! Cleveland is full of hidden history and architecture and for the 2nd year in a row the neighborhoods of Down & Aroundtown Cleveland are offering two tours that will give Clevelanders a chance to explore these hidden spaces. Guests will be told stories and backgrounds about each location and Lolly the Trolley will be transporting guests. Each tour ends at a local restaurant and includes light appetizers and drink specials.

Popcorn for Lunch

The 34th Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) and Downtown Cleveland Alliance invite you to spend your lunch hour at the 34th CIFF! Snack on popcorn and watch any (or all!) of a program of collected short subject films each weekday at noon. Screenings typically last between 90 and 100 minutes, but individual films can have a running time between one and 30 minutes. So you will be able to join us at the beginning, join us in progress, leave early, or leave at the end. Or take a longer lunch break and enjoy the whole program!

Panel Discussion Tonight on the Cleveland Casino project

Tonight…March 5th, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. the Cleveland Coalition will host the first public dialogue on the Cleveland casino development.

The event will be held at the City Club of Cleveland, 850 Euclid Avenue and admission is free. The goal of Friday’s forum is to start a civic conversation about the status of the project, the various sites under consideration and how a casino can be designed in an urban setting so that it doesn’t hurt other businesses Downtown.

Cleveland International Film Festival Happy Hour Fundraiser

Come on out to Velvet Dog and support your favorite Cleveland pastime…. The 34th Cleveland International Film Festival!!! The festival takes place March 18-28th at Tower City Cinemas downtown. Every year, they have a challenge match program where a sponsor matches every dollar that CIFF raises. The film festival is the Cleveland Film Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year, so every dollar counts.

The event will kick off at 5:30, and from 5:30-6:30 there will be appetizers and complimentary Finlandia and Jack Daniels cocktails, courtesy of Ca$h Apparel. There will be all sorts of CIFF related material on hand so you can pick out all the movies you want to see and of course enjoy great friends and support a great cause.
