Tonight…March 5th, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. the Cleveland Coalition will host the first public dialogue on the Cleveland casino development.
The event will be held at the City Club of Cleveland, 850 Euclid Avenue and admission is free. The goal of Friday’s forum is to start a civic conversation about the status of the project, the various sites under consideration and how a casino can be designed in an urban setting so that it doesn’t hurt other businesses Downtown. Speakers will include
- David M. Schwarz of Washington, D.C., a nationally respected architect who designed the expansion of Severance Hall in Cleveland in the late 1990s.
- Tom Chema, president of Hiram College and former chief executive officer of the Gateway Economic Development Corp. of Greater Cleveland
- Christopher Diehl, a professor at the Kent State University Urban Design Collaborative in Cleveland
- Len Komoroski, president of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena
Eric Wellman of WCPN FM/90.3 will moderate.
