Welcome Flaming Ice Cube To Cleveland!

Hello! I am finally back in Cleveland after three months in Sydney, Australia where I have brought back some wonderful inspiration. I figured I should post an update about earlier mentions of The Flaming Ice Cube so here goes….

When I first invited the owners of Flaming Ice Cube to swing over from Youngstown to have a tour downtown Cleveland and its adjacent neighborhoods in the hope of inspiring the opening of a new location, I knew that our city was lacking an exclusive vegan cafe like the cube and I knew that there was a large vegetarian/vegan population in Cleveland/N.E. Ohio. But, the amount of potential support, versus available exclusive choices was lopsided.

I found this lack of choice and representation of this marvelous food to be a big disappointment; especially in an area supposedly evolving into a culinary haven. Hence was my motivation to get owners Michelle and John to come and check out the opportunities that could be presented to them.

I have been a long time customer of the cube–and its unique eclectic gift shop at their flagship restaurant in Youngstown (Boardman) and I can say with utmost confidence that it is a first class establishment offering unique, fresh and healthy and satisfying food alternatives.

While touring the city last September, we viewed many potential places and I was scheduled to meet with Jesee Howells, manager at The Park Building later in the day for a potential site of a new cafe… and how the day went mighty fast. So fast that we almost took a raincheck on checking out The Park Building for a the possible spot.

Needless to say, I am glad I decided to call Jesee and complete what we had originally planned to do—because—as fate has it, a new cube will be opening soon at The Park Building. The Howells have been very accommodating and essential in making this a reality. This was a great example of how networking can lead to good things happening…or tasty ones too! I hope that the downtown community will welcome this new establishment with open arms.

Home made baked goods, soups, coffees and teas, and a variety of other great vegan fare will certainly aim to please. But, remember…. you do not have to be vegetarian or vegan to enjoy this place; it is for everyone who just wants good food. So, let’s show our support and appreciation for this original kind of place—The Flaming Ice Cube—soon to open at The Park Building! I think we’re all in for a real treat! Welcome to Downtown Cleveland!

Woo Hoo! I’ve heard the Cube is awesome and you are right – there are lots of vegetarians in this area looking for dining out options! Can’t wait! Please keep us posted on the opening date.

As a vegan, I can tell you how excited I am about the new restaurant. The Root Cafe, Good n Raw, and now The Flaming Ice Cube. Not a coincidence, I’m sure, that it will be at the end of RTA’s health line.

There is plenty of parking downtown. You may want to contact the Ice Cube’s website or the Park Building to inquire about this in detail. There are several nearby garages in which to park where the walk is short. On some side streets there is on street parking, however, this is only if you plan on being out a short time as the meters are time limited. Naturally, for those who live in or close to downtown have the convenience of walking, public transportation, or biking. My suggestion is to make an afternoon of it and if you must drive, utilize one of the garages. Again, please check with The Cube of Park Building, or email me personally riverlover33@yahoo.com
