Clean Up Cleveland a success!

On Sunday, September 20th, more than 10 community members spent several hours cleaning up multiple stretches of downtown city road.  The task force was able to accumulate 23 bags of trash totaling 759 gallons of waste in the area of Scranton road between University and Carter roads as well as Commercial Road under the bridge. The clean up areas stretched over approximately three quarters of a mile and included pick up of oil cans, tires and scrap metal amongst common waste disposed of by passing cars.

Future clean up task days will be announced in the near future.  Areas under consideration for waste removal include the Cuyahoga River and University Road east of Scranton among others.  Interested volunteers may contact Tanya Cruz at tanyacruz@live.com.

Special thanks to Sutton Industrial Hardware for their generous donation of 2 fifty-gallon trash cans with lids, trash bags and gloves!

Great job! Curbing such is exactly what I talk about when I say that this city needs to master and get a hold of basic issues like this first before anything. Taking care of what we already have is essential before adding more, as a general rule.
